ΝΕΑ ΥΟΡΚΗ. Ο πρόεδρος της Επιτροπής Παρελάσεως, κ. Φίλιπ Κρίστοφερ, την Τρίτη 17 Σεπτεμβρίου 2024 και ώρα 7.00 μ.μ. συγκαλεί την πρώτη συνεδρίαση της Επιτροπής Παρελάσεως προκειμένου να ξεκινήσουν από κοινού τις προσπάθειες για την επιτυχή διοργάνωση της παρελάσεως για την 204η επέτειο της Ελληνικής Επανάστασης που θα λάβει χώρα την Κυριακή, 30ή Μαρτίου 2025 στην 5η Λεωφόρο του Μανχάταν.
Η συνεδρίαση θα λάβει χώρα στο εστιατόριο «Dionysos Restaurant» στην διεύθυνση 23-15 31st Street και έχουν κληθεί να συμμετάσχουν τα στελέχη και τα μέλη της επιτροπής της προηγούμενης παρέλασης, καθώς επίσης και σε όσους θέλουν να προσφέρουν τις υπηρεσίες τους στην διοργάνωση της παρέλασης.
Ο κ. Κρίστοφερ υπενθυμίζει ότι στην τελευταία σύσκεψη αποφασίστηκε η διοργάνωση της παρέλασης στις 30 Μαρτίου 2025 και του επισήμου δείπνου της Ομοσπονδίας, το Σάββατο 29 Μαρτίου 2025.
Παράλληλα τονίζει ότι αν και δεν γνωρίζει πόσα και ποια στελέχη αναμένεται να συμμετάσχουν και στη νέα προσπάθεια, εν τούτοις υπενθυμίζει ότι επιβάλλεται να ξεκινήσουν πάραυτα τον προγραμματισμό των εκδηλώσεων και τον καταμερισμό των ευθυνών.
Απευθυνόμενος στα στελέχη και στα μέλη τονίζει ότι οι πύλες όλων των επιτροπών είναι ανοικτές και ότι ελπίζει ότι όλα τα στελέχη θα έχουν το σθένος και την υπομονή να προσφέρουν τις υπηρεσίες τους.

2025 Greek lndependence Parade
My Fellow Parade Volunteers,
Based on our last meeting, we filed for Sunday, March 30th for our parade and for the Gala to be on Saturday, March 29th. lt’s Mission lmpossible and Ι’m not sure how many members of the committee wish to participate, but unlike last year, we need to start the planning immediately.
All committees are open and Ι hope you have the strength, patience and determination to continue. Last year’s parade was a huge success but we need to make a decision and initiate the work for the 2025 parade.
I invite all members of the committee for the first meeting so we can jointly decide a plan of action.

B”H Just how many must Dr. Albert Einstein’s aphorism be cited to conclude that, indeed, the definition of insanity is repeating the same actions believing that finally failure will be avoided? Thus, our Greek American community is again saddled by a tired and tiresome leader, Philip Christopher, declaring unconvincingly this year’s Greek Independence Day Parade success; then camouflaging the lie by promising a victorious return for Sunday, March 30, 2025. Christopher’s record is replete with serial reverses: half century of aimless attempts to end the division of Cyprus; backing flawed political leaders (Bilirakis, Malliotakis, Menendez, and most notoriously the lying, unfit 45th President); creating a cult of personality, jumping for personal aggrandizement in the systemi fratricidal divisions in the Federation of Hellenic Societies; and his personal deficiency to expel dissenting voices from communal deliberations. So much for democracy, philotimo (besa, decency), or the application of elusive Christian Orthodox love. Oust! What is needed is a clean sweep of all past, discredited pretenders to leadership. A new cadre of people with integrity, humility, education, and experience beckon recognition —- if only we open our eyes, and solicit their involvement.
