ΝΕΑ ΥΟΡΚΗ. Η γενική συνέλευση του Κυπροαμερικανικού Εμπορικού Επιμελητηρίου η οποία συνήλθε το βράδυ της Τετάρτης, 5ης Φεβρουαρίου 2025 στα γραφεία της εταιρείας «Neuberger Bergman» στο Μανχάταν, ενέκρινε τον απολογισμό της απερχόμενης διοίκησης με επικεφαλής την Μαρία Πάππα και ανέδειξε τη νέα ηγεσία με επικεφαλής τον Δημήτριο Κωμοδρόμο.
Ο Δημήτριος Κωμοδρόμος, είναι αρχιτέκτονας, γιος του συνιδρυτή και επιτίμου προέδρου του Επιμελητηρίου, κ. Ανδρέα Κωμοδρόμο και έχει υπηρετήσει το Επιμελητήριο από διάφορα αξιώματα μεταξύ των οποίων και του αντιπροέδρου του.
Το προεδρείο πλαισιώνεται από τους Θεόδωρο Κακογιάννη, αντιπρόεδρο, Πετρούλα Λάμπρου Καλογνωμά, γραμματέα, Φίλιπ Χριστοδούλου, ταμία, Μαρία Παππά, πρόεδρο του διοικητικού συμβουλίου, Πήτερ Κακογιάννη, νομικό σύμβουλο, Δέσποινα Αξιωτάκη, Εκτελεστική Διευθύντρια και Χριστίνα Σαΐλα, σύνδεσμος με την Κυπριακή Δημοκρατία.
Μέλη του διοικητικού συμβουλίου εξελέγησαν οι Χλόη Αγαθαγγέλου, Κυριακή Χριστοδούλου, Ανδρέας Χρυσοστόμου, Μιχάλης Χατζηλούκας, Νικόλας Καρακώστας, Άντζελα Λιάπη, Νίκος Μάρκου, Νικόλας Νικολάου, Εύη Σαββίδη, Μάικ Στεφανή, Γιοβάννα Ταννούση και Στάθης Θεοδωρόπουλος.
Η απερχόμενη πρόεδρος Μαρία Πάππα έγραψε την δική της ιστορία στον οργανισμό, διότι υπήρξε η πρώτη γυναίκα που εκλέχτηκε ποτέ και η οποία ηγήθηκε για τέσσερα χρόνια του οργανισμού, αλλά λόγω των ρητρών του Καταστατικού δεν μπορούσε να διεκδικήσει την επανεκλογή της για τρίτη θητεία.
Η κ. Πάππα υπηρέτησε με πάθος το Επιμελητήριο, αναβάθμισε το κύρος και ανέτεινε την δράση του.
«Ήταν μεγάλη μου τιμή να συνεργαστώ με μια τόσο ξεχωριστή και αφοσιωμένη ομάδα του Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου τα τελευταία τέσσερα χρόνια ως πρόεδρος του Ελληνοαμερικανικού Εμπορικού Επιμελητηρίου Κύπρου», επεσήμανε η κ, Πάππα αποδίδοντας τις επιτυχίες στην αγαστή συνεργασία των μελών του προεδρείου και του διοικητικού συμβουλίου.
Ο νεοεκλεγείς πρόεδρος Δημήτριος Κωμοδρόμος δήλωσε: «Είναι τιμή και προνόμιο για μένα να υπηρετώ ως ο 8ος πρόεδρος του Επιμελητηρίου. Θα ήθελα να ευχαριστήσω την απερχόμενη πρόεδρο, κα Μαρία Παππά, για την αφοσίωσή της και τον ηγετικό της ρόλο».

NEW YORK – At the well-attended Annual Membership Meeting of the Cyprus U.S. Chamber of Commerce, held in New York City on February 5th , 2025, outgoing President Maria Pappas thanked the membership for their support and unwavering commitment to the Chamber. Mrs. Pappas, in a sincere expression of appreciation said: “I have been very privileged to have worked with such a distinguished and committed group of Board of Directors for the past four years as President of the Cyprus-U.S. Chamber of Commerce’’.
Mrs. Pappas thanked the Executive Committee, Demetrios Comodromos, Theodore Kakoyiannis, Petroula Lambrou and Nicolas Nicolaou. She also thanked the Chamber’s Executive Director Mrs. Despina Axiotakis for her unwavering support and being the “glue” of the Chamber all these years!
Mrs. Pappas thanked Andreas Comodromos, Chamber Founder who has contributed to the Cyprus-U.S. Chamber since its inception in 1997, and who has been a source of strength and valuable advice to me, during my tenure serving as president”.
Honorary Chairman and Founder, Andreas Comodromos thanked the Board for their steadfast commitment and enthusiasm in promoting the work of the Chamber and asked them to continue their support and work with the incoming Board of Directors. He gave a brief history of how the Chamber was started over 27 years ago with the Inauguration in New York City attended by then Cyprus President, Mr. Glafcos Clerides.
Treasurer Petroula Lambrou reported that the financial condition of the Chamber is in an excellent state and has been significantly elevated these past four years with the direction of the entire Board and Maria Pappas.
The outgoing Board honored members stepping down, including Theo David, one of the Chamber’s original Board Members.
The Trade Commissioner of Cyprus the Honorable Aristos Constantine addressed the membership and expressed his admiration for the Chamber’s work and offered his continued support for the Chamber.
At the conclusion of the General Membership Meeting, the elections for the new Board were held. The newly elected Board Members are: Chloe Agathangelou, Kyriaki Christodoulou, Phil Christodoulou, Andreas Chrysostomou, Demetrios Comodromos, Michael Hadjiloucas, Theodore Kakoyiannis, Nicholas Karacostas, Petroula Lambrou, Angela Liapis, Nicos Marcou, Nicolas Nicolaou, Maria Pappas, Evis Savvides, Christina Shailas, Mike Stephani, Jovanna Tannousis, Stathis Theodoropoulos,
The Advisory Committee consists of: John Televantos, Philip Christopher, Peter Kakoyiannis, Vassos Vassiliou, and Theo David.
The Board then voted to elect it’s new Executive Committee for a two year term, and its new members are as follows: Demetrios Comodromos, President, Theodore Kakoyiannis, Vice President, Petroula Lambrou Kalognomas, Secretary, Philip Christodoulou, Treasurer. Maria Pappas, Chairman of the Board, Peter Kakoyiannis, Legal Counsel, Andreas Comodromos, President Emeritus, Founding Member of the Chamber and Despina Axiotakis, Executive Director.
